Waterfront and Splash Pads
Nestled between two beautiful lakes, Orillia is a natural playground for water lovers. From swimming and water sports to boating and fishing, there’s no shortage of ways to make a splash. Each summer, thousands of visitors dock at the Port of Orillia, drawn by the city’s vibrant waterfront—and with splash pads across the community, there’s fun for all ages both on and off the water.
Beaches
The City of Orillia operates two public beaches, each offering something for everyone.
Moose Beach is a family favourite, with a focus on accessibility. Visitors can enjoy a large splash pad, an accessible playground, and a change room and washroom facility - all just steps from the water.
- The SplashON Inflatable Waterpark offers a fun, on-the-water adventure for all ages. For details, hours, and bookings, visit the SplashON website. Please note, this attraction is independently operated and not owned by the City of Orillia.
Couchiching Beach, located at the foot of downtown, is a popular sandy spot perfect for swimming. It features two playgrounds, a concession, and a modern change room and washroom facility.
Lifeguards are on duty at Couchiching Beach and Moose Beach as outlined below:
Couchiching Beach: On duty 12pm-5pm daily unless a swim advisory is posted and/or if there is inclement weather - in which case there are no lifeguards on duty.
Moose Beach: On duty 11am-5pm daily unless a swim advisory is posted and/or if there is inclement weather - in which case there are no lifeguards on duty.
Beach Rules and Water Testing
Beach water is regularly tested for bacteria (E. coli) to help ensure it’s safe for swimming. If levels exceed provincial standards, a swim advisory is issued and swimming is not recommended until conditions improve. Always check posted updates before visiting or entering the water.
Splash Pads
