Trails

Discover Orillia’s scenic trail network and enjoy the outdoors at your own pace. Whether walking, running, or cycling, these trails connect parks, waterfronts, and neighbourhoods—making it easy to stay active and experience the city’s natural beauty year-round, with many routes maintained through the winter.

Trail Etiquette

  • Be respectful of the trail, landowners, and other users
  • Stay right; pass on the left
  • Travel in single file
  • Keep pets leashed and clean up after them

Permitted Use

  • Walking, running, cycling, and other non-motorized activities
  • E-bikes (see requirements below)
  • Personal mobility devices

Not Permitted

  • Motorized vehicles (cars, ATVs, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, etc.)
  • Mopeds, pocket bikes, and motorized scooters

E-Bike Requirements

  • Riders must be 16+ and wear a helmet
  • Must have pedals and meet provincial e-bike standards
  • Max speed: 32 km/h; max power: 500W

Additional Notes

  • Cycling is not permitted on Scout Valley trails (except Sgt. Greg Stobbart Trail)
  • Contact the City before using new or alternative vehicles on trails

Dog Parks

The City of Orillia offers two Leash-Free Dog Zones - fenced spaces designed for off-leash play, exercise, and social time in a safe, dedicated environment.

  • Clayt French Park
    • 112 Atlantis Dr, Orillia
  • Kitchener Park
    • 460 West Street S, Orillia

  • Keep dogs leashed until inside the designated off-leash area
  • Dogs must be licensed and up to date on vaccinations
  • Clean up after your dog
  • Children under 12 must be supervised; this is not a play area
  • Aggressive dogs are not permitted
  • No food or treats allowed
  • This is not a training area
  • Owners are responsible for their dog and assume all risk

Playgrounds and Skateboard Park

Play, climb, slide, and explore. Orillia’s playgrounds are designed for endless energy and imagination, offering safe and welcoming spaces where kids can stay active, make friends, and enjoy the outdoors. 

The Kiwanis Skateboard Park offers a dynamic space for riders of all skill levels, featuring a fun box, banks, rails, stairs with rail, and a snake run for continuous flow.

For everyone’s safety and enjoyment:

  • Helmets are required at all times
  • Please dispose of all litter properly
  • Respect the space - no foul language
  • No food or drinks on the skate surface
